Manteca is home to more than 50 public park spaces totaling more than 400 acres. Parks and Recreation amenities include several baseball and softball diamonds, sports fields, picnic areas, barbecues, playgrounds and tot lots, a 3+ mile Class 1 bike and pedestrian path, lighted tennis courts, a BMX bicycle track, a skate park, an 18-hole municipal golf course and a public swimming pool (with tot pool).

Picnic Shelter and Facility Rentals
Are you looking for a place to hold a company picnic, family reunion, or birthday party? The City has designated sites that are available for reservation. For weekend rentals, reservations must be made no later than 5:00 pm on the Thursday before the reservation date. For weekday rentals, reservations must be made a minimum of 48 hours in advance of the rental. The City reserves the right to refuse to grant the use of facilities to any person or group if such use is deemed to be contrary to regulations outlined in the Manteca Municipal Code Section 12.12.100 and/or the Use of City Facilities Policy.

Sports Field Rentals
Looking for a place to hold a tournament, team practice, or league games? Please contact our office for information on reserving sports fields. Insurance is required for all sports-field rentals.
General Park / Open Space Use Permits
Use of park open space is considered first-come, first-served, except when a Park Use Permit has been taken out.
A Park Use Permit and appropriate insurance is required for the following.
- Groups or organized activities involving 50 or more people.
- Any activity involving the erection or placement of stages, booths, platforms, structures or other art works, or other similar structures (i.e., bounce houses) on park property.
- Commercial or mobile recreation equipment, commercial or non-profit vendors, and other items, including portable restrooms. These uses will require prior approval of the department, additional permits, and payment of associated fees.
Although it is not required, groups of less than 50 people may request a Park Use Permit if they would like to reserve a specific area of a park for their exclusive use. The fee for a Park / Open Space Use Permit is $10.00, in addition to insurance and any other permit fees that may apply. Come into our office to complete an application.
