Shred It Events

The Solid Waste Division holds two Shred It clean up events each year — one in April and one in October. The event is free for City of Manteca residents only (no businesses). Proof of residency and Government-issued ID is required. We partner with the Shred It company directly to host this event with on-site shredding services at the Solid Waste Corpyard located at 210 E. Wetmore St., Manteca, CA 95337.

Documents

Please bring items in a plastic bag, paper bag, or disposable box for shredding. You will not be receiving the bag/box back. For more information about the Shred It company, please visit the Shred It Website.

Mattresses

Mattresses and box springs can be brought for recycling. Items NOT eligible: water beds, futons, air mattresses, mattress toppers, or any items cut, damaged, wet, or infested with bed bugs. For more information about mattress recycling, please visit byebyemattress.com/california.

E-Waste

Electronics are accepted for recycling on site. This includes computers, printers, TVs, cell phones, etc. No furniture or appliances accepted. For more information about e-waste accepted materials, please visit the CalRecycle website.

Compost

In honor of Earth Day, compost mulch is available at our April event, free of charge. Compost mulch is subject to availability. Please bring your own container and shovel to collect the compost mulch. Visit the CalRecycle website for benefits and tips on using compost mulch.

Line will be cut off at 12:00 PM sharp. Anyone entering the line after the designated "last car" will be denied entry. For more information, contact the Solid Waste Division at (209) 456-8440 or email MantecaSW@manteca.gov.

District Community Clean-Up Event

Once per quarter, Solid Waste will be hosting a District Community Clean-Up Event. Each district has its own dedicated clean-up event for its residents, free of charge. You will need to bring your utility bill and government issued ID for verification. Residents are responsible to unload items from their vehicles.

What is accepted?

Residents are allowed 1 truck and trailer. Trailer may be a maximum of 8 ft. long. No commercial vehicles or moving trucks allowed. Examples of accepted items:

  • Bulky items such as couches, furniture, appliances, etc.
  • Household Trash
  • E-Waste
  • Mattresses
  • Green waste
  • Up to 9 tires per household

We will not accept any kind of hazardous waste, oil, paint, sharps, or fluorescent tubes.
